Abstract:

To provide a magnetic recording medium with which an error rate is reduced more than before, and also to provide a magnetic recorder.

The magnetic recording medium 21 comprises: a nonmagnetic base material 1; a backing layer 14 composed by alternately laminating a plurality of soft magnetic layers 2, 4, 6 and a plurality of nonmagnetic layers 3 and 5 such that the top layer and the bottom layer are the soft magnetic layers 2 and 6; and a recording layer 16 formed on the backing layer 14 and provided with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy.
