Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having a small output difference by the traveling direction of the medium and a small difference in the output between an A channel and a B channel. SOLUTION: This magnetic recording medium includes at least a base 1, a lower magnetic layer 2 formed by a diagonal vapor deposition method on this base 1 and an upper magnetic layer 3 formed by a coating method on this lower magnetic layer 2. The lower magnetic layer 2 is formed of the curved columns increased in the inclination with the surface of the base 1 from the base 1 side toward the upper magnetic layer 3. The upper magnetic layer 3 is formed of aciculate magnetic powder and the orientation direction of the magnetic powder is opposite to the inclination direction of the columns with the base 1 surface.
