Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic toner which is excellent in both heat-resistant storage property and low-temperature fixability, and can continuously form high-quality images in continuous printing.SOLUTION: A magnetic toner contains a toner core 11, and a plurality of toner particles having shell layers 12 covering the surface of the toner core 11. The toner core 11 contains an amorphous polyester resin and magnetic powder. The shell layer 12 contains a film-like domain 12b substantially composed of a first thermoplastic resin, and a particulate domain 12a substantially composed of a second thermoplastic resin. The thickness of the film-like domain 12b is 10 nm or more and 30 nm or less. The number average primary particle size of the particulate domain 12a is 50 nm or more and 70 nm or less. The first thermoplastic resin has hydrophobic properties stronger than that of the second thermoplastic resin. A zeta potential of pH 7 of the first thermoplastic resin is 1 mV or more and 15 mV or less. A zeta potential of pH7 of the second thermoplastic resin is 30 mV or more and 70 mV or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
