Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable date of a magnetooptic disk to be backed up relatively easily without requiring a host computer.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetooptic disk device 1 can be connected to a SCSI bus 2, specifies an ID number of a recording device 12 which is connected to this SCSI bus 2, and reproduces data which is recorded in a magnetooptic disk 3 of the magnetooptic disk device 1, transfers it to the above recording device 12, and then records it to a recording medium of the recording device by starting a backup operation.
