Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain relatively large guaranteed break force for a main cable in its own weight by using a core rope, at least one part of which is made non-metal fiber with breaking strength per unit sectional area larger than that of a steel wire, so as to form the main cable for an elevator.
CONSTITUTION: At least a part of a core rope 2b is made of non-metal fiber with breaking strength per unit sectional area larger than that of a steel wire. A strand 2a, consisting of may pieces of steel wires, surrounds the periphery of this core rope 2b to obtain a desired main cable 2 for an elevator.
