Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten an axial dimension as a whole by shortening a span between fore-and-aft bearings of a rotating shaft, and by shortening an entire length of the rotating shaft.SOLUTION: In a main spindle device M, a rotating shaft 80 is rotatably supported to a housing H via front-side/rear-side bearings 40, 60, and the rotating shaft 80 is rotationally driven by a built-in motor 70. A front-side bearing housing 20 is formed into a stepped shape in which an external peripheral face has a large-diameter external peripheral face 21 and a small-diameter external peripheral face 22, and at least a part of the small-diameter external peripheral face 22 of the front-side bearing housing 20 is arranged inside an end coil 73 of a stator 71 so as to be overlapped on the end coil 73 of the stator 71 when viewed from a radial direction. A motor-side bearing 41 of the front-side bearing 40 is reduced in a dimension of an outside diameter more than that of an anti-motor side bearing 42, and fit into the front-side bearing housing 20 in a position in which the motor-side bearing is overlapped on the small-diameter external peripheral face 22 of the front-side bearing housing 20 when viewed from the radial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
