MALFUNCTION PREVENTING CIRCUIT FOR INFRARED RAY REMOTE CONTROL DEVICE

PURPOSE: To prevent malfunctions of the main body of a remote controller by detecting optical noise and not accepting an optical pulse on the reception side, when the optical noise is mixed in the optical pulse from the outside. CONSTITUTION: A waveform A is that of an optical pulse containing optical noise, and another waveform B is obtained by inverting the waveform A by means of an inverter 2. The waveform B is inputted to a pulse-generating circuit 3 and differentiation circuits C3 and R3. A waveform C is the output waveform of the circuit 3 and inputted to the base of a transistor(Tr) 5. A waveform D is the differentiated waveform of the waveform B and inputted to the base of a Tr 4, and the Tr 4 is only turned on when the base 2 is at an 'H'-level. Similarly, the Tr 5 is only turned on, when the waveform C is at an 'H'-level, and both the Trs 4 and 5 are simultaneously turned on when both the waveforms C and D are at 'H'-levels. When the Trs 4 and 5 are turned on simultaneously, the potential at the input of a pulse-generating circuit 6 drops. The time constant obtained by means of resistors Rs and C2 is set at a large value and outputs the 'H'-level of a waveform G, at which the trigger of a waveform F is inputted. When no optical noise exists, the pulse-generating circuit 6 is not operated and an infrared remote controller operates as normal.
