PURPOSE: To efficiently and accurately perform designing operation by putting a computer in charge of the designing operation and providing various functions along the flow of the designing operation, and thus assisting the operation.
CONSTITUTION: A display means 1 displays five plans or three plans of a manifold block on a CRT screen 20 and a component arranging means 2 displays plural hydraulic components, obtained from a hydraulic circuit diagram, as icon components on part of the CRT screen 20 and arranges the icon components on the five or three plans according to operator's operation; when an automatic piping means 3 specifies connection points between two arranged hydraulic components, the both are piped through shortest-path search processing and each time a piping connection is made, a piping completion inspecting means 4 inspects the completion. After all piping connections are made, a block reducing means 5 decides whether or not the block size is proper or not and reduces the block at need.
