PURPOSE: To obtain an air-inflated tire with a low rotation resistance preventing undulatary formation thereof by molding and vulcanizing a cap tread rubber applied on only one side of base tread rubber after an electron beam is irradiated thereon.
CONSTITUTION: In the manufacture of an air-inflated tire whose tread rubber is made up of a double structure of a cap tread rubber and a base tread rubber containing one or more kinds of natural rubber and synthetic polyisoprene rubber or polybutadiene rubber at a rate of more than 50wt.pts. of all rubber components. Prior to the molding, an electron beam is irradiated on only one side of the base tread rubber within a range of 3W20MRad, which is followed by a partial vulcanization to prevent the undelatory formation at the boundary between the cap tread rubber and the base tread rubber of this vulcanized tire. Then, a cap tread rubber is applied on the irradiated side thereof, molded and vulcanized to obtain an air-inflated tire as expected.
