Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain perfectly unoxidized alloy powder having a low m.p. by atomizing a molten alloy having a low m.p. with a gas having a prescribed specific gravity and inert to the metal.

CONSTITUTION: The alloy having a low m.p. is melted by heating and dropped from a nozzle. A gas having ≥1.4 specific gravity basing on that of air and inert to the metal is spouted in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the nozzle. The molten metal is atomized and solidified by cooling to obtain perfectly unoxidized alloy powder having a low m.p.
