Abstract:
PURPOSE:To manufacture an Al product provided with specularly reflecting function by subjecting the surface of Al to cleaning, activation and chemical conversion treatment, carrying out Ni electroplating under proper conditions to form plural layers and further carrying out Cr electroplating under proper conditions. CONSTITUTION:The surface of Al is degreased by successive immersion in an org. solvent and an aqueous NaOH soln., and after impurities are wiped off with soft cloth or the like, the surface is activated by immersion in nitric acid or the like and subjected to chemical conversion treatment with an aqueous soln. contg. Zn(CN)2, Ni(CN)2 and NaOH to form a film as a base for plating. Semibright and bright Ni layers are formed on the film in 1:(1.5-2.5) ratio in thickness by electroplating at 45-65 deg.C, 2.5-5.5A/dm<2> current density and 3.2-5.7pH. A Cr layer is then formed on the bright Ni layer by electroplating at 45-55 deg.C and 10-20A/dm<2> current density.
