Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of the seal strength of a black matrix, wherein the active layer needs not transparency and tight attachment thereto be obtained while the permeability inherent in the pixel is maintained, by using as a coating a sol acquired through hydrolysis of a specific organic compound. CONSTITUTION:Alkoxy organic compound or the like given by a formula: M(OR1)m(OR2)nXpYq is hydrolyzed to form a sol, which is either solely or in combination applied to a transparent base board 1 and baked to provided thereover an active layer 2 in the form of lattice or netting which has fine pores, and the whole surface of this active layer 2 is subjected to non-electrolytic plating to form a black matrix 6. In the formula, M is one element selected among magnesium, calcium, etc., R1 and R2 are alkyl radical or acyl radical, and X and Y are hydrogen atom, chlorine atom, or hydroxyl radical, wherein (m, n, p), and (q) are integer between 0-8, and m+n+p+q gives the number of M's, and m+n must be greater than 1.
