Title:
MANUFACTURE OF COKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5918789
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a coke in high efficiency and economically, using a simple equipment, by feeding heavy oil into a fluidized bed of refractory particles fluidized by high-temperature gas to effect heat decomposition of said oil, coating the resultant coke on the refractory particles, followed by raising temperature to generate cracks on the coating layer before releasing it from the particle surface.

CONSTITUTION: Heavy oil is fed through the inlet tube 10 to the coke-production equipment 1, being subjected to heat decomposition in the fludized bed X consisting of refractory particles fluidized by feeding a high-temperature gas through the tube 2, thus coating the resulant coke on the surface of said particles. The coated particles are heated to a temperature higher than the decomposition temp. of the oil to generate cracks on the coating layer, followed by releasing the layer by the application of external force, preferably, in the form of high-speed gas stream exposure.
