PURPOSE: To prevent incidence of the exfoliation of a substrate due to the distortion and residual stress of the substrate by applying a uniform pressure to the adhesive, by setting the applying location of the adhesive to the inner side of the end part of the substrate relatively.

CONSTITUTION: A bonding agent 6 is applied to parts of substrates 1 and 2 composed of a large-sized glass which is 5W20mm inside from the edge of the substrates 1 and 2 and, as occasion demands, a streak 10 for cutting is installed in advance to the glass. After those substrates 1 and 2 are put one upon another, a flexible rubber-like elastic body 7 is put on the substrates 1 and 2, an aluminum frame 9 holes the substrates, the pressure is reduced through an exhaust pipe 8, and the interval between the substrates is uniformized by equally pressing the substrates with the elastic body 7, the adhesive 6 is heated and hardened, and then, the outside part is cut off. Since the applying location of an adhesive is set to the inner side of the edge of the substrate, no excess pressure is given to the adhesive and no distortion is produced, and, therefore, exfoliation due to the residual stress can also be prevented.
