PURPOSE: To improve the heat resistance, specific strength and specific elasticity by filling a mixture of whiskers with Al or Al alloy powder into a canning capsule under a prescribed pressure and by subjecting the capsule to hot static pressing for forming.

CONSTITUTION: Al or Al alloy powder as a matrix is uniformly mixed with whiskers as a fibrous reinforcing material. The mixture is filled into a canning capsule such as a mild steel can under 100W2,000kgf/cm2 pressure. The capsule is evacuated and tightly sealed. This tightly sealed capsule is heated and pressurized in a hot static press for forming.
