Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method wherein chips scraped off an insulation coating are prevented from sticking to a roll and a high reduction rolled flat insulated wire can be obtained having good characteristics when rolling is conducted continuously over more than thousands of meters.
SOLUTION: After an insulated round conductor 3a is formed by applying an insulation coating material to an outer periphery of a round conductor 1a having a circular cross-section and by baking it, the round conductor 1a is deformed into a flat conductor 1 by rolling with a reduction ratio from 1:5 to 1:40 by the use of biaxial tandem roll mill or a single roll mill. Further, an insulated flat conductor 3b is made up by forming an insulation coating rather thickly on a corner part c of this flat conductor 1 and then insulation coatings are formed rather thickly on respective flat parts f of this insulated rectangular conductor 3b by applying again the insulation coating material to an outer periphery of this insulated flat conductor 3b and by baking it, and thus a high reduction rolled flat insulated wire 3 is obtained wherein the thickness of the insulation coating 2 of the corner part c and those of the flat part f are substantially uniform.
