Abstract:
PURPOSE: To manufacture a lens with no residual machining in the center part, by machining a lens material by linear contact with a lens cutter.
CONSTITUTION: A lens material 1 is cut by rotating lens cutters 8a, 8b about the center axis crossing at a right angle with a center line A of the lens material 1 while the lens material 1 about the center line A. Accordingly, a lens of high accuracy is obtained eliminating the residual machining in the center part by machining the lens material 1 through the linear contact with the lens cutters 8a, 8b. While accuracy of the lens is improved by decreasing a heat transfer for the lens material and preventing internal stress from being generated.
