PURPOSE: To eliminate the necessity of separation between a ceramic element and an abrasive by using an oxide constituting the ceramic material of the ceramic element or an oxide the same as a powder to be laid used during barrel polishing before the ceramic element is sintered, as the abrasive.
CONSTITUTION: Polyvinyl butyral resin and dioctyl phthalate are blended into a derivative powder composed of BaTiO2 as a main component, and are mixed in a bowl-mill with the use of a solvent so as to prepare a slurry from which ceramic green sheets are formed on a polyethyl film. Then, internal electrodes 2 made from an internal electrode paste are formed on the green sheets with the use of a screen printing process. Thereafter, the sheets are made into press- contact with each other and laminated with each other so as to form a lamination of twenty layers which is then cut into chips so as to obtain ceramic elements. These ceramic elements are subjected to barrel-polishing by using an abrasive made of ZrO2 which is the same as ZrO2 used as a powder to be laid during sintering of the ceramic elements. Then, after removal of the binder, the lamination is sintered and is then incorporated with external electrodes so that a ceramic electronic part is completed.
