PURPOSE: To disperse and stick a gap agent uniformly and equally and to improve outward appearance quality greatly by passing a film substrate through a solvent vapor layer for washing and drying the film substrate before the gap agent is scattered.
CONSTITUTION: Washing solvent liquid 14 such as freon TF and mixed liquid of freon TF and ethyl alcohol is reservoired in a solvent vapor bath tank 13 and a heater 15 is provided to vaporize part of the liquid. Then, the film substrate 1 made of a plastic film is discharged electrostatically after an electrode film 3 is formed in pattern and an oriented film 5 is formed by rubbing, and carried in a gap agent dispersing chamber 17. In this case, the gap agent 10 is scattered over the film substrate 1 in the solvent vapor layer 16 to manufacture a liquid crystal display cell, and consequently the gap of the film substrate is made uniform and the outward appearance quality is improved.
