Abstract:
PURPOSE:To get a high-quality liquid crystal display element equal in gaps between boards by performing the processing from the assembling of liquid crystal cells to the reorientation of liquid crystal molecules practically without causing distortion in a board. CONSTITUTION:A pair of boards are put on top of each other through a frame- shaped seal material consisting of thermosetting resin B2, and then a pair of boards are pressurized B3 so that the gap may be a specified value, and also the seal material is hardend by heating B4, whereby a liquid crystal cell is assembled, and then ferroelectric or antiferroelectric liquid crystal is injected B5 into the liquid crystal cell by lowering the temperature of this liquid crystal cell from the heating temperature at hardening of the seal material to the liquid injection temperature, with the liquid crystal cell held with a pressurizing and heating means, and next the molecules of the liquid crystal inside the liquid crystal cell by annealing the liquid crystal from the side of its one end B7, and then a liquid crystal injection port is sealed B8 by ultraviolet ray hardening resin.
