Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having a low noise and high performance by suppressing dispersion of crystal particle size of a magnetic film and micronizing the size and obtain a magnetic recording medium having a low noise low thermal fluctuation, low thermal magnetization and high reliability by suppressing the dispersion of crystal particle size.
SOLUTION: One kind of oxide selected from among CoO, Cr2O3, FeO, and NiO is dissolved in one kind of oxide selected from among SiO, Al2O3, TiO2, TaO2 and zinc oxide on the surface of a glass substrate. And after the substrate or thin film of an inorganic compound having a structure, wherein a crystalline particle of a solute substance having a honeycomb structure and regularly arranged is deposited in a boundary which encloses the solute substance, is formed by ECR method, a magnetic recording medium is formed. This substrate or thin film of the inorganic compound has a structure wherein one kind of oxide selected from among CoO, Cr2O3, FeO, and NiO is deposited as a crystalline particle and SiO, Al2O3, TiO2, TaO2 or zinc oxide constitutes the crystalline boundary.
