PURPOSE: To obtain a method for easily manufacturing a molding having a pattern which shows characters in a transparent resin.

CONSTITUTION: A molding which comprises a first transparent resin 7 having a pattern 8 formed on its one face is arranged in a female mold 6 of an insert mold in such a manner that the side of the pattern 8 faces a male mold 5. A transfer material 11 having a background layer or a sticking material is arranged in such a manner that a base sheet 1 of the transfer material 11 faces the male mold 5 of the mold or the background layer of the sticking material or the base sheet 1 faces the male mold 5 of the mold. After the molds are closed, a second transparent resin is injected into a cavity in between the molding which comprises the first transparent resin 7 and the transfer material 11. Thus, the first transparent resin 7 and the second transparent resin pinch the pattern 8 and a molding having the background layer on the outside of the second transparent resin is obtained.
