Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a manufacturing method for an oxide superconducting wire being extra fine, high Jc, and excellent in mechanical characteristic.
CONSTITUTION: After an Ln-X-Cu oxide superconducting conductor or material capable of becoming the oxide superconductor by way of firing is formed into precursor fiber, and the precursor fiber is heat-treated so as to be insoluble in solvent, the surface of the fiber is coated by platinum or rubidium. Thereafter, pretreatment for decomposing organic substance in the precursor fiber is performed so as to make a wire. Then, the wire is heated up to a partial fusion temperature or higher in an oxygen atmosphere, and is cooled down to the generation temperature of a superconductive phase, and is kept at the temperature for 120 minutes or less. Next, the temperature is lowered at a speed of 50°C/hour or less so as to introduce flux pinning. Thereby it is possible to manufacture easily the oxide superconducting wire, where fiber diameter is 1000μm or less, Jc is 104A/cm2 or more, the structure has no crack and is fine, and the superconductive phase is arranged in the lengthwise direction of the fiber. But Ln is Sc, Y, lanthanides, and X is one kind of or mixed elements selected from Ba, Ca, Sr, Pb, Sn.
