Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the manufacture of a plastic cover boot excellently sealable at its small-diameter anchoring part.
CONSTITUTION: A plastic cover boot is manufactured by integrally forming a small-diameter anchoring part at its one end, a large-diameter anchoring part at its other end, and a flexible covering part at its intermediate part. A melted resin 11 is extruded from an extruding head 1. The small-diameter anchoring part is molded with the cavity 10 of the small-diameter anchoring part formed with the projecting part of a mandrel 5 and an anchoring part- molding metal mold 9. Next, a parison 5 is provided along its surface while lowering the mandrel 5 to position the mandrel 5 between blow molding metal molds 6. The large-diameter anchoring part and the flexible covering part are molded with tire cavities 7, 8 of the blow molding metal molds 6, to obtain a cover boot in which tire small-diameter anchoring part is integrated with the flexible covering part.
