PURPOSE: To heighten the oxygen generation overvoltage and prolong the high temp. life greatly by forming into a grating by mean of mechanical process, thereafter subjecting to a heat treatment at a specified temp., and thereby removing distortion of atom orientation on the surface of grating after the forming process.
CONSTITUTION: An expand grating is formed in a mechanical fabrication process 1, and in the subsequent heat treatment process 2, subjected to a heat treatment under specified managerial conditions over 130°C, which is followed by a paste coating process 3 for coating the paste of pos. elect. active substance over the grating. Thereby the distortion of atom orientation on the surface of grating can be removed by heat treatment after forming of the grating, and also the oxygen generation overvoltage be heightened, so that the reaction of oxidating lead sulfide into lead dioxide is permitted to proceed selectively in the pos. elect. plate, which should enhance the high temp. life characteristic.
