Title:
MANUFACTURE OF THERMOELECTRIC MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3555515
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manufacture a thermoelectric material having small crystal grains, superior orientation of a low-resistance azimuth and high performance by preparing a thin-film or powder from a thermoelectric material using liquid quenching method, and heating the obtained thin-film powder by jointly using a conductive heating method and an indirect heating method and solidifying and molding them.
SOLUTION: This thermoelectric material is melted, and a thin-film or powder is prepared by liquid quenching method, and a sintering space 5 formed of the first die 2 and the second die 3 is filled with the thin-film or powder. A current I1 is conducted through a power supply 4, a current I2 through one resistance heating body 6 and a current I3 through the other resistance heating body 6, and the thermoelectric material is heated up to a prescribed temperature, where crystal grains are not further roughened, heating the thermoelectric material by a die 3 and sintered. Thus, the thermoelectric material having superior performance can be manufactured by heating in a short time up to a fixed temperature, by jointly using direct heating by means of electric conduction through the electrode 4 and indirect heating by the resistance heating body 6 formed around the first die 2.
