Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a titanium-clad-aluminum wire rod excellent in workability by cladding a circumference of a core material with a cladding layer and setting an oxide film of titanium or titanium alloy as a diffusion proof layer on at least one of adjacent faces between the cladding layers.
CONSTITUTION: A core material 1 consisting of aluminum or aluminum alloy is inserted into a cladding layer 2 and further this one is inserted into a adding layer 3 and is combined with one body. Set screws made of titanium are screwed into threads 3b, 3c disposed at both ends of a pipe constituting the covering layer 3 and the core material 1 and the cladding layer 2 are fixed in the covering layer 3. A diameter of the titanium-clad-aluminum wire rod constituted by the combination of the core material the cladding layer 2 and the cladding layer 3 is successively made slender while carrying out cold swaging rolling with swaging machine operation and then annealing.
