To provide a technology capable of reducing an additive amount of an alkali metal compound and capable of preparing an activated carbon having a high specific surface area and to provide a technology capable of reducing a manufacturing cost and capable of preparing the activated carbon having a high specific surface area by using resources such as a biomass and a lignite.
The technology comprises a step A of adding and mixing 10-100 pts.wt. alkali metal compound to 100 pts.wt. solid organic material, a step B of heat treating a mixture of the solid organic material and the alkali metal compound of the step A in an inert gas atmosphere at 400-600C and a step C of activating a heat-treated material of the step B in a carbon dioxide gas-containing atmosphere at 600-900C. In addition, a step D of activating the activated material of the step C in the inert gas atmosphere at 750-900C may be added.
