Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent fogging of an index phosphor particle and improve the characteristic of mirror surface by forming an index phosphor stripe before a metal back is done and the metal back except on the index phosphor stripe.

CONSTITUTION: Light absorption substance stripes 11 are formed on a face panel 15 and red, green, and blue phosphor stripes 12 are formed among them. Then, index phosphor stripes 14 are formed on the light absorption substance stripes 11. Subsequently, a laquer film 18 is applied on all inner part of the panel 15 and a metal back layers 13 are deposited except on the index phosphor stripes 14 by using a deposition mask which covers the upper part of the index phosphor stripes 14. As a result, the fogging of the index phosphor particle on the metal back layer is removed and the decrease of the transmission factor of an electron beam can be prevented.
