Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for foamable styrenic resin particles capable of stably obtaining such particles from an impact-resistant styrenic resin including carbon black by a quenching method and also capable of obtaining from such particles, an in-mold foamed molding of the styrenic resin having a beautiful surface improved in color shading and clearance between particles and also having high impact strength, and to provide a production method for the in-mold foamed molding of the styrenic resin, and such a foamed molding.SOLUTION: A production method for foamable styrenic resin particles comprises: preparing a molten resin by melting and kneading an impact-resistant styrenic resin, carbon black and a foaming agent; pushing out the molten resin in a pressurized water through a die having small holes; and cutting the molten resin pushed out in the water by a rotary cutter. The discharge amount per hour of the molten resin passing through the small holes is 1.0 kg/hole or more but 2.5 kg/hole or less, the pressure of the pressurized water is 0.8 MPa (gage pressure) or more but 1.2 MPa, and the temperature of the pressurized water is 50°C or higher but 70°C or lower.SELECTED DRAWING: None
