To provide a manufacturing method of hot rolled steel strip having higher productivity than that in batch rolling process by using of a hot long size slab equivalent to a plurality of usual long slabs, and good strip flatness from the leading end part to the tail end part without using expensive equipment.
When the hot rolled steel strip is manufactured, a hot long size slab equivalent to a plurality of usual long slabs is hot rolled to obtain the hot rolled steel strip, and the hot rolled steel strip is cut and then coiled into a plurality of coils. Before the hot long size slab is hot rolled, a shaping rolling process is done with ten or more of usual long slabs, and then a hot rolling process of the hot long size slab is done. Furthermore, among the ten or more of usual long slabs in the above shaping rolling process, the first plurality of slabs are rolled in a wider width than that of the hot long size slab, and next, one or two slabs are rolled in the same width as the hot long size slab, and then the hot long size slab is rolled.
