Title:
MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR MAGNETOSTRICTIVE TORQUE SENSOR, AND MOTOR-DRIVEN POWER STEERING DEVICE MOUNTED WITH MAGNETOSTRICTIVE TORQUE SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3730234
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a magnetostrictive sensor capable of keeping favorably a steering feeling for a motor-driven power steering without changing a characteristic of an detection output even when exposed to a high temperature atmosphere such as that in an engine room of an automobile, for a long period, and a motor-driven power steering device mounted with the magnetostrictive sensor manufactured by the manufacturing method.
SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, the change in the detection output is eliminated to detect a steering torque stably without creeping by exposure to the high temperature atmosphere in use, since a steering shaft 12b is heat-treated again after providing magnetic anisotropy to magnetostrictive films 20u, 20d by releasing a return torque Tq. The magnetostrictive type sensor is mounted on the motor-driven power steering device 10 to maintain satisfactorily the steering feeling without changing sensitivity of a steering torque sensor even when exposed to the high temperature atmosphere in the engine room for the long period.
