Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a molded article with a shaded overlap pattern which gives a unique impression similar to that of a vignetted picture; and to provide the molded article with the shaded overlap pattern obtained by the method.SOLUTION: A production method comprises: preparing a base body 3 provided with a shaded pattern P; on at least part thereof, forming a transparent colored layer 4 which has a shade of color made with a coloring agent and has transparency; forming a vapor-deposited layer 5 and a top coat layer 6 further thereon in this order; and partly removing the layers other than the transparent colored layer 4 by laser irradiation. The production method allows a shaded overlap pattern Q to emerge in a part subjected to the removal. A brightness difference (L-L) in the shaded pattern P on the base body 3 is 50-10, and a brightness difference (L-L) in the shaded overlap pattern Q in the part subjected to the removal by the laser irradiation is 45-10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
