Abstract:
To provide a plastic composition (binder for pavement, asphalt modifying material, etc.) for pavement materials capable of treating waste PET in large amount at a low cost as much as possible and having desired characteristics.
The method for producing a plastic composition for pavement material comprises carrying out transesterification of one or more kinds of polyhydric alcohols and/or saccharides with waste PET in the presence of a catalyst. Pentaerythritol is preferably combinedly used as the polyhydric alcohol in order to obtain the composition having high tackiness and glycerin is preferably used as the polyhydric alcohol in order to shorten the reaction time.
