Abstract:
Disclosed is a plastic optical device having excellent gas barrier properties which are hardly deteriorated even when the device is used under high temperature conditions or abruptly changing environmental conditions. Also disclosed is a method for producing such a plastic optical device. Specifically disclosed is a plastic optical device which is provided with a gas barrier film over the entire surface thereof. This plastic optical device is characterized in that at least a part of a region B other than the optical path on the surface has a gas barrier film having a larger ductility than the gas barrier film provided over an optical path region A on the surface.
