To produce a rare earth sintered magnet using granules having excellent fluidity and capable of attaining the improvement in the dimensional precision of a compact and the improvement of productivity.
This method for producing the rare earth sintered magnet is provided with: a stage where granules obtained by binding primary alloy grains having a prescribed composition with an organic liquid are charged to a die cavity; a stage where a magnetic field is applied to the granules, and compacting is performed thereto, so as to obtain a compact; and a stage where the compact is sintered. In this case, to the primary alloy grains, the organic liquid is added, desirably, by 1.5 to 12.0 wt%. Further, the organic liquid is desirably provided with the characteristics satisfying a saturated vapor pressure of ≤75 mmHg(10.0kPa) at 20°C, a surface tension of ≥20 dyn/cm at 20°C, and a viscosity of ≥0.35 cp at 20°C.
