Title:
MANUSCRIPT PROJECTION OPTICAL SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1172845
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly irradiate a projection surface without the loss of light quantity even when a secondary light source where light distribution is not uniform is used by arranging a rod between a secondary light source generating means and a manuscript. SOLUTION: The rod 20 is arranged between the secondary light source generating means 10 and the manuscript 30. Namely, the rod 20 is arranged instead of the conventional condenser lens. The rod 20 in this case is a rod obtained by forming transparent substance such as glass, quartz, plastic or liquid into prism, pyramid, columnar or conical form. When light is made incident from one end of the rod 20, the light is repeatedly totally reflected inside the rod 20 and its flux density is uniform at the other end. Therefore, by arranging the emitting end of the rod 20 proximately to the original 30, the original 30 is also uniformly illuminated. Then, a projection surface 50 is also uniformly illuminated. Meanwhile, the tangent of a maximum angle formed by the light with an optical axis is decided according to the NA of the secondary light source 15 and the shape of the rod 20.
