Abstract:
To provide a map data dividing method, a car navigation system and a car navigation device enabling less cell data to be newly obtained when moving from a present cell to an adjacent cell.
In order to obtain map data used by the car navigation device, a map 1 to be the object of division is divided by rectangular cells 2 forming a brick pattern to generate map data divided by unit cells 2. By using the map data obtained by this dividing method, it is always sufficient to obtain new cell data of only three cells when moving from a present cell to an adjacent cell.
