Abstract:

To provide a map display device and a map display program by which a user can easily recognize a name even when only a part of the name of a geographic object is displayed and in which a storage amount can be reduced.

The map display device is provided with: a storage means 2 for storing data of a road and background to be displayed in a map; an arithmetic processing means 3 for performing map display processing; and an output means for representing the map. The arithmetic processing means 3 determines the visible part of the geographic object within a map display area and, based on the visible part, moves the name or the symbol corresponding to the geographic object to the position where the name or the symbol is entirely displayed within the map display area.
