To obtain a lipase inhibitor having stronger activity than a conventionally known lipase inhibitor and derived from a natural product.
The lipase inhibitor comprises an extract of Ascophyllum nodsum being a kind of brown algae as an active ingredient. The lipase inhibitor is supplied as a health food or a food for specific health care so as to treat and prevent diabetes.
