Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a material for radio wave absorber capable of absorbing radio waves with a specific frequency range, which radio wave absorber can be obtained by dispersing magnetic powder, that is prepared by mixing ferrite powder comprising manganese, nickel metal and the like with powdered metalic iron in a certain proportion, into an organic high polymer material in a certain proportion.

CONSTITUTION: Ferrite powder containing one or more metals selected from manganese, nickel, magnesium, zinc, cobalt and copper is mixed with powder metalic iron such as electrolytic iron or carbonyl iron in the proportion of from 1:0.5 to 1:7 by weight to obtain a mixed magnetic powder. The powder is then dispersed into an organic high polymer material medium such as rosin, ceramic, ester rubber, polyester resins and epoxy resins, such that the amount of the powder is in a range of 22 to 39 % by volume of the sum of the powder and the medium, the mixture is kneeded by roller a ball mill or the like, and the resulting mixture is formed into a sheet or obtained in the form of paint. Thus the obtained radio wave absorber absorbs radio waves with a frequency range of from 8 to 12 gigaherz specifically.
