Title:
MATTE THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION AND MOLDED ARTICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04159355
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prepare the title compsn. giving a molded article having an excellent chemical resistance and a matte surface by blending an aromatic polyester resin with a specific graft copolymer which is obtd, by the bulk polymn. to a specified conversion followed by the suspension polymn. to the completion. CONSTITUTION:95-85wt.% monomer component [pref. comprising an arom. vinyl (e.g. styrene) and a vinyl cyanide (e.g. acrylonitrile) in a wt. ratio of the former to the latter of 60/40 to 80/29] is bulk-polymerized in the presence of 5-15wt.% low-cis polybutadiene having a mooney viscosity of 30-40 to the conversion of 1-15% and then the polymn. is continued in suspension to the completion, giving a graft copolymer. 30-95 pts.wt. the graft copolymer is blended with 5-70 pts.wt. arom. polyester (the sum being 100 pts.wt) to give the title compsn., which, giving a molded article having an excellent chemical resistance and a matte surface, is useful in the fields of automotive exterior parts and electrical home appliances.
