Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve detecting precision of MBT (minimum ignition advance to the optimum torque) by applying restriction, by which ionic current is gradually increased, for the predetermined duration from a start of ionic current detection, and then, releasing the restriction so as to detect a time when the current value becomes the maximum value from the ionic current from which the restriction is removed.
CONSTITUTION: During the operation of an engine, ionic current Ii inputted into an ion circuit 24a in an ionic current measuring circuit, which is connected to an ignition plug, is inputted into a drain D of a field effect transistor FET. In this process, a steppedly starting control signal CS is inputted, so that control voltage Vg impressed to the first gate G1 of FET is slowly started in a time length decided on the basis of a resistor R and a condenser C of a time constant circuit TCC. Therefore, a size of output current Iout in this time is increased with a lapse of time, and a current change starting pulse-shapedly just after a start of ionic current detection is restricted, and as a result, error detection is prevented.
