PURPOSE: To improve the function and operability of measurement by installing an instrument which emits a cross-shaped laser beam whose center is viewed clearly movably in an automobile transverse direction and a vertical direction.

CONSTITUTION: Respective reference point display bodies 7 are aligned at reference measurement positions of an automobile according to a frame chart determined at every kind of automobile. At this time, a cross-shaped laser beam collimating device 40 is adjusted so as to project light on a specific position. Then a deformation place is clamped by a clamp 44 and a tension chain 46 is towed strongly by a drawing tool 45 to correct the deformation place. In this case, the cross-shaped laser beam from the device 40 is only projected on a display body 7 nearby a successive bead type chain 43 suspended at the reference position of a troubled automobile A and then the chain 43 shields the vertically projected light beam; and the chain 43 and its corresponding display body 7 are matched with each other, and then corrections are made in the right-left and front-rear directions, thereby knowing the restoration state of the troubled automobile A. Thus, the operability is improved.
