To provide a method for quantitatively measuring dioxins with high accuracy, capable of easily analyzing the dioxins in fly ash by using an alternate index and being applied to any fly ash, without having to specify the incinerator of which the dioxins concentration is estimated.
For determining the concentration of dioxins in fly ash, a calibration curve is drawn by a multiple regression analysis method using the concentrations of dioxins obtained by measuring samples by a standard method and the concentration of an organochlorine compound measured by a chlorinated compound detection means, for separating the samples by gas chromatography. Subsequently, after separating the object sample of an unknown concentration of dioxins by the gas chromatography, the concentration of the organoclorine compound in the object sample is found by the chlorinated compound detection means and is compared with the calibration curve, to measure the concentration of dioxins in the object sample.
