Abstract:
To reduce the size and weight of a mechanical device using a driver retaining mechanism such as balls by simplifying the driver retaining mechanism such as balls.
The balls 28 are adapted to move along a ball groove 14 when a worm gear 10 rotates along with rotation of an input shaft 12. A worm wheel 20 rotates in company with motion of the balls 28 and furthermore, the output shaft 22 rotates. A case for preventing the balls 28 from falling from the worm wheel 20 can be omitted because the balls 28 are attracted on side of the worm wheel 20 by a magnet 26. Thus, the size and weight of the mechanical device such as a robot's joint are reduced.
