Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance resisting strength against high pressure liquid of impeller side by applying seal rings made of tungsten carbide or silicon carbide, and by holding the seal rings with holders through metal retainers fixed to the periphery of the seal rings. CONSTITUTION:A stationary seal ring 4 is made of tungsten carbide, and a rotary seal ring 5, silicon carbide. A No.1 metal retainer 6, which consists of an annular body 6a having liquid paths 7a-7c formed through it to introduce cooling liquid B to the peripheral surface 4b of the stationary seal ring 4, is fixed on the outer periphery of the stationary ring 4 and this metal retainer, in turn, is connected to a holder 9. On the other hand, a No.2 metal retainer 11, which consists of an annular body 11a is fixed on the oter periphery of the rotary seal ring 5, and this metal retainer is connect to other holder 13.
