In this method for applying the powder releasing lubricant to an inner surface of a forging die 10, a clearance 31 of a sliding passage 30 of a knockout pin 3 is formed to communicate with a die cavity 20 by slightly protruding the knockout pin 3 in the die cavity 20 with the die 10 in a closed condition, and the powder releasing lubricant is fed to the die cavity 20 through the clearance 31.
