Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly divide a non-fat region into an internal organ region and a muscle region.SOLUTION: A CPU 6 extracts a body region of a subject from a tomographic image of the abdomen of the subject photographed by a medical tomography device 2. Then, the non-fat region is extracted from the body region, and a bone region and a psoas major region are extracted from the non-fat region. The non-fat region is divided into the muscle region and the internal organ region based on positional information of side edges of the extracted bone region, psoas major region and non-fat region. The tomographic image clearly indicating the muscle region and internal organ region respectively is displayed/controlled in a medical image display device 5.
