Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition containing a compound designated by a specific formula, useful for lowering serum cholesterol level without an adverse effect accompanying to the treatment, inhibiting the proliferation of smooth muscle, inhibiting restenosis, inhibiting uterine fibroid disease, etc. CONSTITUTION: This medicinal composition for lowering serum cholesterol level, inhibiting the proliferation of smooth muscle, restenosis and uterine fibroid, contains a compound of the formula [R is a 1-6C alkyl, a 1-6C alkoxy, a halo or trifluoromethyl; R<1> and R<2> are each a 1-6C alkyl; (n) is 2-6; R<3> and R<4> are each a 1-4C alkyl or combine to form a substituent selected from a group of pyrrolidino, morpholino, piperidino, piperadino, 4-(a 1-6C alkyl)piperadino and 4-phenyl-piperadino] or their pharmaceutically permissible salt as an active ingredient. Further, as the above compound, e.g. Centchroman is preferably used.
